History of Holocentric

Holocentric is the amalgamation of advanced software with extensive business modeling knowledge and experience.

Derek Renouf, Holocentric's Chief Technology Officer, has over ten years experience in developing modeling tools to solve software problems. He recognized that in order to understand complexity across applications, he needed a product that was flexible and customizable enough to accommodate the differences between various software environments.

Derek formed a company and created a generic modeling tool called Simply Objects. The modeling tool was able to relate any object to any other object and understand the relationships between them.

At the same time, John Forrest, Holocentric's former Chief Executive Officer, was developing customized enterprise-wide systems to meet specific business requirements. John discovered that to meet these requirements, he needed to understand how the business operated and who was responsible for particular processes.

In 2002 John's company joined forces with Derek's company to create Holocentric. With their combined experience, Simply Objects evolved into today's Holocentric Modeler to become a highly flexible modeling tool that can be customized for different business contexts.

This has proven a potent combination, giving Holocentric an enviable understanding of business modeling theory and practice and a proven record to match.
