Junior Software Developer

You might not realise it now, but you are looking at Australia’s next big software success story.

Our software has been recognised and used by some of Australia’s largest organisations including Airservices, BT Financial Group, Qantas, Sydney Water and Westpac. We don’t wish to brag but we have helped big companies get better.

We know we are onto something pretty special and we are looking for equally special talent to propel us forward.

We don’t just provide IT services. We create software that empowers large organisations to make accurate and better informed decisions, faster. By delving into our clients existing knowledge, we pick out their problems, and work together to develop solutions that drive continuous improvement. Understanding the DNA of an organisation is essential to bringing about positive change.

You enjoy sharing knowledge with team members, ask for help when needed, and at the end of the day have a passion for writing great code.

You’ll learn a range to technology as you work with our existing and emerging product frameworks. You will be expected to organise work, participate in design sessions, follow instructions, and work with others and at times on your own. With your help our business will continue to thrive so we can deliver even more amazing results to our customers.

In addition to writing code and testing it works, we developers provide a level of product support, help with technical issues and assist with troubleshooting. In essence, in addition to making cool apps and technology, we continue to be responsible for what we’ve written and make sure it continues to operate.

Key Requirements

  • Experience using C# (or similar, eg. Java), HTML5, scripting languages, database and related technology
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply complex new technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to apply Object-Oriented principles, including UML and design patterns, data structures and algorithms
  • Understanding of source control and unit testing
  • Can handle multiple tasks and prioritise work
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to explain your design before and after coding
  • Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, MIS or relevant technology degree (provide academic record)

Perks of the Job

Some of the perks for working in a small, dynamic company include: great culture, open offices, highly collaborative workplace, offsite company kick-off and planning sessions, weekly drinks and catch up, plus a real ability to help shape our product future. We also have a share options scheme, so you can participate in the success of the business.

We don’t believe in fixing people in rigid positions, but rather seek to match interest and capability. For example, you could end up working with both Front End and Back End technologies after learning new skills. If you like a challenge, want to deliver exceptional results and seek to reach your potential we’d like to hear from you!

So by now you would have realised that we aren't your average software company. We have big dreams for our business and our people.

You wouldn't want to be the one who missed their opportunity to be part of a company that is on its way to becoming a leading Australian software company.

If you want to make a difference and be part of a team that takes pride in helping other organisations improve their business performance, then please apply with your resume and covering letter to jobs@holocentric.com, telling us why you would like to join us.
