Benefits of the OMG Model

The OMG reference model:

  • Identifies what motivates the implementation of business plans
  • Identifies and defines business plan elements
  • Represents the inter-relationships of these elements
  • Provides the basis for storing, cross-referencing and reporting the elements of business plans

We use the OMG group’s business motivation model as a “lightweight” de-facto standard to:

  • contain and organize the elements of business plans such as vision and mission, goals and objectives, strategies and tactics and business policies
  • reference other relevant elements of business models such as business processes and business rules and organization units that are contained in related models using external standards
