WHAT'S THE ROLE
We’re not looking for an ordinary software developer. Holocentric wants a person that’s smart, keen, likes to get things done and is eager to learn about new technologies.
This role will involve extensive use of .NET and related Microsoft technologies, including Azure, as well as thin client and desktop applications. Above all, you’ll be applying Object-Oriented principles and work in an Agile manner.
Do you have a breadth of knowledge across-the-board and at least one deep area of expertise? If you are one of those naturally curious types that improve things, works on your own side projects and learns new skills that are not a necessarily part of your normal day job, then this role may be just for you. You enjoy sharing knowledge with team members, ask for help when needed, and at the end of the day have a passion for writing great code.
You’ll learn a range of technology as you work with our existing and emerging product frameworks. You will be expected to organise work, participate in design sessions, follow instructions, and work with others and at times on your own. With your help our business will continue to thrive so we can deliver even more amazing results to our customers.
In addition to writing code and testing it works, we developers provide a level of product support, help with technical issues and assist with troubleshooting. In essence, as well as making cool apps and technology, we continue to be responsible for what we’ve written and make sure it continues to operate.

Work as part of a software development team to develop software in a variety of languages, including .NET/C#, Smalltalk, C/C++, HTML/HTML5/CSS/JQuery and more
Learn how to apply relevant technology to solve product problems
Create unit tests and assist with testing our software products
Provision of support for customers and consultants, helping with technical product-related issues, such as custom scripting and troubleshooting
Contribute to product ideas and give feedback on usability and design
Ability to learn and apply complex new technologies quickly
Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
Ability to apply Object-Oriented principles in a development language
Ability to follow instructions with exceptional attention to detail
Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced start-up environment and be able to handle several projects and tasks simultaneously
Must possess excellent time management and prioritisation skills
Knowledge/experience with SQL Database and stored procedures (MSSQL/Oracle)
Good understanding of data structures and algorithms
Knowledge of best practices in software development
Ability to ask questions and explain a proposed course of action
Excellent communication skills
Recent graduate with a strong academic record with a Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, MIS or relevant technology degree
