- Promote collaborative modelling for the members in large, distributed organisations;
- Promote information sharing through a repository of libraries;
- Make business modelling more efficient;
- Easily publish role-based model content to diverse audiences; and

Enhancements for Modeler V6.0
|
Modeler V6.0 has been significantly upgraded to provide seamless interaction with Modelpedia. In addition to the Modelpedia connectivity Modeler has been further enhanced.
- Repository and Library Workspaces
Seamless integration with the Modelpedia server. The interface is consistent whether you are connected to the repository or using the Modeler in standalone mode.
Local file system folders shortcuts can now be created and maintained within Modeler, making it simpler to work with the file system as well as a repository.
When connected to the Modelpedia server, version control (and history), collaboration and task management is provided.
|
-
Package Support and Shortcuts
Namespaces are now supported for all items in Modeler, using general Packages.
This allows for more flexible naming of non-programming related items, such as processes and roles.
-
More Convenient Interface
Dialogs have been updated and in some places consolidated for simplicity, for example the Library property editor now includes prerequisites.
Other smaller, yet useful changes have been made, such as retaining List Column widths when content is refreshed, adding a Welcome page that includes a long list of recently used files etc.
-
Supports User-defined Perspectives, Roles and Views More extensive use of Roles and Perspectives has been made. The standard roles have also been simplified and with the Modelpedia server, users can create their own roles which are active in published websites.
-
Items Changes Tracked
Library item property changes can now be tracked, regardless of whether you have consolidated using Teamwork.
|
| |
-
Items are now based on UUIDs
Libraries, as well as items within them now have a Universally Unique Identifier, as well as retaining the pre-existing Unique Identifier (which is still user-assignable). This assists teamwork and also ensures that embedding pictures within descriptions and other places is hassle free.
-
Improved Metamodel (M3) Support for Solution Frameworks
Extensions have been made to the meta-modelling capabilities of the Modeler.
-
Scripting – API, Editors and XML Support
A simplified XML interface has been added to import/export content from the Modeler.
User-defined Web Browser interfaces can also now be included within any area of the Modeler.
Improvements have been made to the scripting engine and editors.
-
OLIX File Format
Revised library file format results in the typical size of library files being reduced from 50% to 30% of the previous OLI version.
User lock detection and contention reporting has been improved and there is also a file preview available when using Vista with Explorer and Outlook.
