Change management is fundamental in achieving successful business transformation, and successful change management can deliver organisational cultural change and establish a better team working environment. To achieve this, a sound change management framework should be adopted to ensure that all changes to content are properly assessed, approved and implemented in a controlled and systematic manner.
The BMS supports a multi-staged Change Management Lifecycle where all changes to model content are systematically managed and migrated through discrete levels, or stages, of maturity as the items evolve over time. For example, if you have a published Production Library, where some of the model items require changes to them, the Change Management functionality can be used for appropriate governance.
One important feature within the Change Management functionality is the ability to check for promotion errors after creating a Change Request. In this feature, you can check and verify if any of the existing relationships will be broken because of the proposed changes that are added in the current Change Request.
As with all changes being made in an organisation, it is important to be able to identify changes made since the last published final version of a library. Change Management lets you publish your library with Revision Mark-Up enabled, allowing Modelpedia content reviewers and consumers to easily identify what has been changed in their processes. The changes will be shown using change bars and text highlight.
The role of processes plays a significant role in change and is vital in managing an organisation’s efficiency and effectiveness. Effectively using the Change Management functionality will give an organisation’s management the confidence the work will be completed to the correct standard and in a timely fashion.
