Sydney Water Award - March 2019

Sydney Water and Holocentric are pleased to announce that the Australian Construction Awards have selected the Helix project based on Holocentric’s Modelpedia the winner for 2019 in the “Process Innovation of the Year” category. There were a large number of entries for this plus many very strong applications. They were shortlisted to just 10 providers and then Sydney Water were selected as the winner.

The award was presented at a gala dinner on 14th March 2019.

The citation from the judges:

“The Delivery Management group (DM) is a strategic consortium formed between Sydney Water Corporation, Lendlease and John Holland to design and deliver infrastructure projects.

The group has 200+ staff and 1500+ ‘in-flight’ projects. In 2018, DM completed an ambitious, innovative and comprehensive process improvement program that encapsulated several major process innovation projects. The projects include a new process-driven system-supported delivery framework, the (Holocentric) HELIX Asset Creation Process, launched late in 2016 and significantly upgraded and optimised in 2017-18 in phase 2.

Also launched in 2018 was a bespoke Management Operating System, consisting of structured tools to optimise operational/project delivery, maximise monitoring and control, enable data-driven analysis and continual improvement, enhance leadership support and management practices, and ensure a consistent operational approach that aligns with corporate goals.”

Feedback from judges on the Process Innovation submission from Sydney Water: the focus on staff well-being is commendable; a great innovative process for the type of industry.
