Technical Business Analyst

We have a great team of people who have done some great software work over the years, including scripting and runtime engines, diagramming frameworks and metadata-based repositories. Needless to say, we're a diverse bunch who love doing interesting things.

As the Technical Business Analyst, you will work within the Design team to define product requirements to ensure Development team and QA team understand what needs to be built.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Software Owner, Product Owners, and Development team to understand and refine requirements for sprint.

  • Analyse functional requirements, perform impact analysis and gap analysis, and identify related business rules.

  • Assist with writing user story and acceptance criteria to be reviewed prior to sprint commencement, using relevant modelling and other tools.

  • Maintain functional requirements and business rules are update-to-date as needed.

  • Collaborate with Design and Development team members to understand key UX and technical details; identify the gaps in the respective developed specifications.

  • Clarify inquiries of user story and acceptance criteria from QA team.

  • Assist with the provision of technical documentation and training material.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of technical business analysis experience in an Agile environment

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience with using multiple requirement analysis techniques

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with modelling using UML.

  • Proven experience working with internal and external stakeholders

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience using JIRA and modelling tools

  • Understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs and UI Frameworks (desirable)

  • Prior development experience (desirable)

  • Tertiary education in relevant field (Engineering or Technical discipline)
