Technical Writer

What makes Holocentric exciting?

Working in the R&D team at Holocentric isn't a regular software job. It's kind of like comparing fast food preparation with being a chef.

Building a product isn't just about the technology and writing software. It's about the impact on other people's lives. What we create makes a big difference to our customers, the way they work and people they interact with, be it keeping aircraft safe and in the sky, trains running, drinking water flowing, food being prepared in accordance with the strict regulations, or even helping to keep our country safe, our software is part of this.

We have a great team of people who have done some great software work over the years, including scripting and runtime engines, diagramming frameworks and metadata-based repositories. Needless to say, we're a diverse bunch who love doing interesting things.

What we're missing now is you.

As the Technical Writer, you will be responsible for preparing materials for communicating product features to internal and external stakeholders, and produce high quality technical documentation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Produce high quality user guides, release notes, reference materials, and other supporting information that describes product features.

  • Work with respective teams (Design, Development QA team) and Product Owners to understand the release scope of the product.

  • Assist Design team and Development team with technical documentation, as needed.

  • Translate the technical information into user guides.

  • Assess current documentation structure and content to achieve clarity, tone and impact.

  • Work with Product Marketing team to tailor documentation for specific audience.

  • Work with UX personnel to ensure a consistent user experience for product documentation.

  • 3+ years technical writing experience in a software development or information technology environment.

  • Proven experience producing high quality technical documentation for a variety of audiences.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical information in an easily understood manner.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
